Accreditation and Curriculum

St. Joseph School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) whose accreditation process has been approved by the Virginia Council for Private Education Committee on Accreditation as authorized by the Virginia State Board of Education. A formal evaluation process must be done every five years. The in between years require an annual plan to be submitted based on the self study / evaluation report in order to keep accreditation current. This process enables St. Joseph School to focus on its areas of strength and focused improvements. St. Joseph School is also accredited by the Virginia Catholic Education Association (VCEA).

St. Joseph School offers a flexible ad well-rounded curriculum. Incorporated into this curriculum are opportunities for developing physical well being, fostering creativity, instilling social awareness, and engendering an appreciation for the fine arts. The curriculum is based on the National Standards of Learning. Annual standardized Terra Nova tests are taken at several grade levels in the spring.
